Tracy was diagnosed with Insulin Dependent Diabetes (Type 1) in 1979 and has lived through many changes in diabetes management during this time. She works full time in the health service and has never let her condition limit her ambitions.
Ian has retired from full time work as a National Project Manager with BT.
His time is now taken up as a volunteer ranger with the Peak District National Park, a Trustee for Raptor Rescue and family history with the U3A.
He was diagnosed with Type 2 in 2008.
The mother of a son with Type1, daughter of mother with Type 2 with other family members with Type 2 diabetes.
A Biomedical Scientist by profession and has attended various courses on diabetes to gain further knowledge.
Linda has retired after 20 years with Nokia Mobile Phones, and now volunteers with the Mothers’ Union, Soroptimists, and Neighbourhood watch, combining with aviation research and authoring. Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 2005 she is controlled by medication.
Diagnosed as having T1 Diabetes (insulin dependant) in 1961 John has witnessed many advances in treatment over the years.
His career path has been varied working in engineering, sales and finance.
Walking in the High Peak hills is John’s main passion.
This helps keep him fit and healthy in body and mind.
Any spare time is devoted to helping others through local charities.
